Dual Career Program

The University of Virginia recognizes that employment decisions often involve two careers. We realize that you share unique challenges as part of a dual career couple, and we are committed to developing resources to assist you in your move to Charlottesville.

The Dual Career Program was created to assist you with your job search and is part of HR Consulting Services within University Human Resources. Want to know more about what we do? Check out our brochure.

While clients of the Dual Career Program are not guaranteed employment, we will aid and support you in your job search.

The questionnaire is the initial requirement for participation in this program. Upon completion of this questionnaire, please save the file and return to the Dual Career Program director as an attached document via e-mail to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Who is Eligible?

Spouses of:

  • Newly hired faculty within the last year

  • Faculty that anticipate working for the University

The Dual Career Program partners with Higher Ed Jobs to post all of our vacant positions and to assist faculty spouses and partners with their dual career searches. The Dual Career Program, in conjunction with the Provost Office, is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC). As a member of HERC, clients can search available positions at participating Virginia, D.C., and Maryland colleges and universities. Automatic e-mail notifications will be available to bring positions of interest to your attention.

We are open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and are located at 918 Emmet Street (Web Map) on the 3rd Floor Room 302.

Parking is located immediately next door to our building in Carruthers Hall Visitor Lot.
