In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the University of Virginia monitors the number of hours wage employees work during a 12-month measurement period to determine if they meet the ACA definition of a full-time employee eligible for health coverage. Wage employees who average at least 30 hours of service per week during the 12-month measurement period are eligible to enroll in the UVa Health Plan’s Basic Health Wage option during the corresponding 12-month stability period. Wage employees eligible for health coverage will be notified.
Eligible academic division wage employees who have been notified should enroll online at Employee Benefits Self-Service. Eligible medical center wage employees who have been notified should enroll online using PeopleSoft Self-Service.
