Training

Whether you are a faculty or staff members, supervisor or manager or individual contributor, it is the responsibility of each of us to build a model of a caring community that benefits a University already known for outstanding teaching, research, public service, and patient care.

Respect@UVA: A Caring Community Starts with Me offers faculty and staff the opportunity to learn about the University’s Commitment to a Caring Community of Dignity and Respect and what respectful behavior and disrespectful behavior look like in the workplace. Participants will also learn what you can do if you are the target of disrespectful behavior, if you are accused of disrespectful behavior, or if you are a witness to disrespectful behavior. In this course you will also learn about the University’s respectful workplace guidelines and resources to help teach and reinforce respectful behaviors and the Respect@UVA incident-reporting system. Learn what it takes to build and maintain a respectful workplace at UVA, and be part of a Caring Community!

If you are interested in scheduling an instructor-led course, please contact the Respect@ Coordinator at respect@virginia.edu. In addition, University Human Resources is now offering open enrollment sessions of the course.

The following sessions are open to all University of Virginia employees:
