Responsibilities and Training

SIS training is based on your assigned roles or responsibilities. Responsibilities in the SIS are predefined sets of data, menus, and forms that define your authority and what information you have access to while using the system. Training is provided to ensure that you can enter, manipulate, and/or retrieve information from the system as appropriate, in order to effectively fulfill your job responsibilities. Administrative users of the SIS are required to complete an online prerequisite course as well as online or instructor-led functional training that corresponds to assigned user responsibilities. Those needing viewer-only roles are not required to complete training but can complete all recommended training via online courses.

Requests for SIS responsibilities are made by you, your supervisor, or your department's Data Access Approver, and submitted via the Electronic Self-Help Access Request Process (ESharp). For general information about the system and information on getting started (VPN, passwords, desktop requirements, etc.) or to log in to the Integrated System, SIS, or Discoverer, click the appropriate quick link at the top of this page.
