Leadership Strategies
Introduction
Leadership Strategies is a leadership development program, offered by University Human Resources’ Leadership Development Center. It is offered once a year, in cohort form, and explores a variety of topical issues relating to both the mission of the University and the leadership competence of its managers.
The ideal candidate is someone who is at the Director or Asst. Dean level or above, has considerable management experience, multiple direct reports, and a broad span of control. This class is most approriate for those with more than 5 years of management experience.
Candidates must submit three documents: an application; a current resume, C.V. or summary of professional work; and a signed nomination letter from their manager. All materials should be sent to Tamara Sole (contact details are provided below).
Program Objectives
Leadership Strategies participants will increase their capacity to lead by:
creating a personal development plan based on feedback gained via a comprehensive and confidential 360-degree process;
exploring U.Va. specific leadership issues with resident subject matter experts; and,
completing a relevant and tangible, experiential, group learning activity.
Program Details Dates for Spring 2013 are Wednesdays, April 17 through May 22, and the application deadline is April 1.
