Welcome Back To Hoo’s Well

To the Members of the University Community:
Welcome back to the second year of Hoo's Well, U.Va.'s comprehensive wellness program. Created in partnership with Aetna, IM-Rec Sports, WorkMed, and others across Grounds, Hoo's Well is designed to help you and your spouses on the health plan get healthy and stay healthy--and gives you cash rewards to help you get there.
To earn your first $75 you must complete a biometric screening and an online health assessment; WorkMed appointments are already available for screenings from Sept. 10 to Oct. 19 on http://www.hooswell.com. Then you have until Dec. 1 to complete your health assessment. That's all it takes to earn $75. After that you can earn additional rewards, up to $100 a year, for accomplishing wellness goals.
If you completed the screening and assessment last year, please do so again. You and your spouse are eligible for the reward every year! If you didn't participate last year, I hope you will give it a try in 2012.
Want to make your screening extra fun? Save the date for the Wellness Fair, Sept. 13, at the John Paul Jones Arena from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. featuring games, activities and prizes, as well as exhibitor booths, free parking and refreshments. Get your screening and a free flu shot (flu shots for employees only). Register today! Don't forget your ID and Aetna card when you come.
New this year:
• If you can't schedule a biometric screening, you can submit lab results signed by your physician to WorkMed if collected prior to Oct. 31, 2012
• Your Hoo's Well rewards will come in your paycheck, rather than on a Visa Rewards card
• The Hoo's Well portal at Hoo's Well, providing one location for links to frequently accessed wellness sites
Any day you'll receive a welcome packet sent to your home address with complete instructions, web site addresses, informational brochures, FAQs, and more.
