2011-12 Performance Evaluations
Posted: June 4, 2012
To all staff and A&P faculty:
Summer is coming, and so are performance evaluations. Starting today, you can complete your self-evaluations for 2011-12 and begin planning goals for 2012-13.
The annual evaluation window runs from June 4 through September 28. Schools and units establish their own internal deadlines within that time period, so check with your manager or HR professional to make sure you know your area's specific due dates.
Why is this process so important? This is an opportunity for you to document progress toward your goals and competencies. The annual evaluation is just one part of an ongoing, year-long series of conversations. It helps employees know what is expected of them, how they are doing, and how they contribute to the University; it helps managers measure employee success, have a basis for coaching and rewarding employees, and motivate their teams from year to year. HR has resources to help you understand the process, including recommended timelines, overviews of the entire performance cycle, training, and a useful toolkit with tips on common actions, like viewing your past reviews.
