Leadership Essentials: Group Learning Program, Spring Session Two

Program Description: This program begins with a focus on the foundations of leadership, such as creating a shared vision and trust and progresses to the nuts-and-bolts of leading as a manager. The participants interact during class discussions and activities, learning from each other and building valuable relationships.
Audience: This program is intended for new managers. No prior knowledge or skill is necessary
Day 1: Introduction to The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®, from The Leadership Challenge, by James Kouzes and Barry Posner Day 2: Creating a Climate of Trust, Communicating Effectively, and Hiring the Best Day 3: DiSC Assessment for Managers, Performance Management Day 4: Human Resources Policy and Compliance, Delegating, and Managing Conflict Day 5: Crucial Conversations® Day 6: Developing and Engaging Employees, Action Planning, and Business Responsibilities Meet & Greet Day 7: Graduation
Pre-work is assigned before most class days.
Date and time: Thursdays, March 29, April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 8:30am – 4:30pm and Thursday, June 14, 9:30am – 1:00pm
