Accidental Death and Dismemberment

For VRS members, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance is provided for no additional cost. In the case of accidental death, this amount is four times your annual salary, rounded to next $1000 if the amount is not a round number. Accidental death and dismemberment insurance benefits are payable if you sustain bodily injuries while you are actively employed, through violent, external, and accidental means and as a direct result, you lose your life, limb or eyesight within 90 days of the accident.
